The Stationery Bakery all started in Sarah’s kitchen. At the time, she was designing wedding invitations in her and her husband’s first apartment. “I was literally creating fresh paper goods—with messy paint and paper—from scratch.” Soon enough, Sarah launched her line of greeting cards, featuring her original designs.
Now she has her design process down to an art. She starts by sketching concepts, paints them by hand, and scans the artwork via her trusty Mac. Using Creative Suite, she makes any necessary adjustments before sending it off to a local printer. She approves the proof, and for embossed cards, adds glue, glitter and powder before zapping it all into place with an embossed gun. Where the card lands next, is up to you, the happy customer.
