"Handmade goods are a more immediate and organic expression of human creativity. "
"I find inspiration in the story of other entrepreneurs. Many of them are disrupting industries and making massive impacts on our world. These are young, driven individuals that are simply choosing the road less traveled. "

"With time, I learned that everything happens for a reason and setbacks and failures are the best learning opportunities. They are also an opportunity to pause and evaluate the path you are on."

"I look up to all women who have faced a lot of adversity and fought against the odds but didn’t give up. Who made something remarkable of themselves by working hard and being real and honest along the way. "

"With time, I learned that everything happens for a reason and setbacks and failures are the best learning opportunities. They are also an opportunity to pause and evaluate the path you are on."

A self-described “dreamer and doer,” Krit Khandelwal first laid the foundation for what would become Soothi when she reached out to an NGO that was upcycling coconut shells. “I thought it was the coolest thing,” said Krit, “So I purchased a bag full of coconut shells and started playing around with ideas.” Before long, she was making laser cut coconut jewelry and registering her company.

To complement her marketing background (“My practical side pushed me to pursue a degree in business,” she said), she made a point to learn the basics of design on her own and utilize these newfound skills towards her creative interests. To that end, she uses design software when inspiration strikes to create computer-aided designs, which then get carved onto pre-polished coconut shells. “My day involves trying to create unforgettable experiences by cutting through the clutter and connecting with my audience,” said Krit.

I believe...

In going the extra mile and making something truly worthwhile.

I love it when...

An idea becomes a reality.

Words I live by are...

Always be real and honest.

What three things make you happiest in the world?

My dog, traveling and my extensive shoe collection.

"There are 3 elements to the inspiration behind my design: yoga, nature and minimalist concepts. "
