“I have a wide design background in drawing, painting, sculpture, and ceramics.”
“When people purchase from artisans they get a piece that has a story behind it, impeccable craftsmanship, and they get to support someone’s dream.”
Walk us through your production/design process.
It varies! Sometimes I will sit with a sketchbook and just draw out ideas and combinations of shapes and lines. Then I take them into my studio and create my drawings into real life. Other times, I have to go into my studio first and combine shapes and pieces to make patterns and build from there. I make all of my pieces by hand from the raw metal, wire and gemstones.
What is the inspiration behind your design?
Geometric designs, the art deco movement, textiles, patterns and my customers.
Tell us about a challenge you’ve had to overcome and how it affects/has affected your work
I have had a fair share of doubters that designing and selling jewelry could be an actual career and not just a hobby. Especially since I have always been told how saturated the jewelry market is. It took me awhile to actually break through that thinking, but now I think that just pushes my designs and ideas further to ensure each piece is unique and something special that you will be excited to wear.
