“Making handmade goods is important to us because we get to infuse each piece with our own energy and see it through from beginning to end. It's a tribute to the way things were done in simpler times, slow and steady. ”
Cited by its founders, Tarlan and Addel, as an “accidental birth,” Sigil and Growler was the result of many late nights and their creative juice of choice, craft beer. As co-founders of Vancouver-based creative agency Klo Portfolios, Tarlan and Addel created custom portfolios for designers. As a natural extension of their talents, Sigil and Growler do the same for home and microbrewers, gift givers and beer aficionados. “As we gazed lovingly at our growler collection from our favorite local breweries, we began to imagine a world where anyone can personalize their own beloved growler,” they said. So began the testing and tinkering process, in which blood, sweat and beers were shed.
Once they’ve flushed out their concepts and completed their prototypes, they’re sent to friends and family for testing, feedback and more beer, until their collections are complete. Describing custom growlers as “the perfect marriage between an ancient art and modern expression,” Sigil and Growler uses hard-earned expertise and the latest technology to make personalized vessels that are functional works of art.
