Raised by a family of entrepreneurs, Jill Shephard always knew she wanted to start her own business. While she had several ideas (including a gymnastic studio and a dog kennel), she stuck with her artistic talents, which she further developed at the University of Kansas, completing a BFA in Graphic Design.
After graduating, she worked at a few agencies—learning invaluable lessons along the way—before starting her own business. Today, she runs it with her husband Brian (a web developer and photographer), and they work on concepts together before sketching, fine-tuning, and plate-making. She says it’s important to consider every detail, including: “Who is going to buy it and for what reason?” Luckily, we can think of plenty of uses for her letterpress goods.
