Romi’s father was an industrial designer — she remembers sitting on his drafting table playing with his interesting pens and oddly shaped rulers. He was a major influence on her design education, as was her ceramics teacher, Marek Cecula. Since Romi went to her first drawing class at five years old, she knew art would play a major part in her life. Each of Romi’s ceramic designs begins with a set of sketches, but the final piece comes from a refined process that utilizes Romi’s passion, precision and joy of working with her hands.
