I started Heron and Lamb right after graduating from college. I worked as a server and really fell in love with creating jewelry, so I would leave the restaurant after a double shift and go home to learn new techniques on my kitchen table, sometimes until the sun came up. At that point, it never exhausted me because I was so insatiably eager to make my craft a passion. A few months after I started learning basic metalsmithing and glasswork and I developed an aesthetic, a major online retailer picked up my work and I was able to quit my job and move to Chicago to work on my jewelry line full time. I was afforded the opportunity to spend a lot of time learning new techniques, travel around the country to attend popular craft fair circuits, and grow with my brand. I started to focus on designs that were an homage to my earlier pieces that focused on the preservation of nature, but that also had greater detail and an evolved level of craftsmanship.
