“Going to art school and taking so many different classes in different mediums really helps round out technique and skill.”
Some of the best things in life are never planned. Such was the case for Lindsey Alonzo of LunaSol. While working as a textile artist—armed with a BFA in Textile Design—she was introduced to jewelry making. Something clicked, inspiring Lindsey to translate her skills to a new medium.
Her detailed metal work is handcrafted in Portland, and inspired by everything from the desert landscapes of New Mexico to the historical sites of Egypt. As for the name of her collection: It’s a tribute to her Mexican heritage, and means moon/sun. “LunaSol seemed to fit really well since we all share the same moon and the same sun—no matter where we are on earth.”All studio photos by Mikola Accuardi.
