Meet The Face Behind

A BRIKA maker story

Cindy Kaiser

“I absolutely love being involved in the physical making of the products as well as working with other makers of handmade products. ”

“I could never imagine running a business that didn’t focus on ‘handmade’. It would just not resonate with me in the slightest.”

“When I am confronted with a difficult work challenge, I look back on what I was able to ‘overcome’ in my person life and it makes the challenges and tasks at hand seem a lot simpler and more achievable in comparison. In that sense, it has given me the confidence to really go after my dreams.”

“I could never imagine running a business that didn’t focus on ‘handmade’. It would just not resonate with me in the slightest.”

Cindy Kaiser of La Kaiser always knew she wanted to be independent and own her own business, seeing the virtue in being able to work on her own schedule as an entrepreneur. She first started La Kaiser on a part-time basis while she was working for a jewelry and wardrobe stylist in downtown L.A. After seeing success as a small business owner, she took a leap of faith and decided to pursue jewelry designing and making as a full time career.

Always a creative with a strong passion for handmade goods, Cindy specialized in Creative Jewelry and Metal Design at Stellenbosch University in South Africa and went on to study Apparel Manufacturing at FIDM in L.A. As the creative lead in every part of the jewelry-making process – from the conceptual process to sourcing raw materials, and then casting and assembling – Cindy cites the beauty of the world and colors of gemstones as her main inspiration. “I like to incorporate colorful gemstones into my jewelry line in a minimalistic way, so as not to overpower the piece with color, but rather to serve as a subtle reminder of positivity and happiness,” she said.

I believe…

Anything is possible if you put your mind to it.

I love it when...

Fall is in the air as it always awakens my soul and re-energizes me! I couldn’t live without those bouts of fresh crisp air, the smell of wood fire, seeing the leaves change colors, indulging in hot chocolate by the fireplace and picking pumpkins from the pumpkin patch.

Words I live by are...

“All our dreams can come true if we have the courage to pursue them.”

“If you are not willing to risk the usual, you will have to settle for the ordinary.”

“Do one thing everyday that scares you.”

What three things make you happiest in the world?

Family and friends, designing and making jewelry and skiing.

“Design and creativity have always been a huge part of my life. ”
