Eigen Arts founder Barbara Eigen has always been passionate about creating ceramics that are unique, whimsical, and colorful. She cultiavted this happy pottery style while studying art at Cornell University and then at the Boston Museum of Fine Arts and Alfred University. She founded Eigen Arts in 1977 from her SoHo, New York loft, where she molded her first designs after real fruits and veggies. Her goal was to create ceramic essentials for every day use--with a unique personality and colorful flare. Since then, Barbara's style has evolved and expanded, and even been featured in Metropolitan Home, Martha Stewart Living and Bon Apetit. Today, Paul Brothe helms Eigen Arts, continuing Barbara's legacy of creating fun, fresh, original shapes and colors in pottery.
