Christina Anton believes the best way to start a new project is just to dive in headfirst. And she should know — she just completed her Masters of Architecture at the Southern California Institute of Architecture in L.A. (she did her architecture undergrad in Chicago). Much like envisioning a completed building, Christina starts her Boo and Boo Factory pieces with a pattern in mind. She selects the colors she wants to work with, mixing and matching them until the combination feels right, and then freehand cuts several different shapes. Testing, layering and reshaping, sometimes what started out as a necklace turns into a bracelet, or earrings into a necklace; it’s that element of surprise that keeps it exciting.
