One of Arlie’s favorite things about being a Maker is the simplicity of running a small handmade line. It makes her day to day feel incredibly wholesome, and reminds her of her childhood—when she would spend hours going to art class, and working on fun projects around the house with her mom. Her favorite part of working with glass is its unpredictability. The medium is surprising—you never know exactly how glass might react to a new idea—and this has led Arlie to many happy design accidents. She loves visiting the boutiques on Lexington Avenue (full of clothing, crystals and art), finds motivation by following the projects of other Makers, and always keeps a sketchbook on her nightstand.
