She has a passion for writing and style, and loves to sew in her free time.Soap pouches are the perfect shower accessory (not to mention great for those overnight trips)! Slip in any bar of soap you want, and it will double as an exfoliator. This DIY can be made with any type of towel you have lying around your house. It's also a great project for novice sewers.
- Sewing machine
- Bar of soap
- Sewing pins
Step 1: Cut a piece of the towel, approximately 4" x 11.5". The piece should look like a narrow rectangle. Step 2: Finish the thinner ends of the towel by folding them down twice (with raw seams tucked in), and sewing along the edges. (Tip: pin it in place for easy sewing). Step 3: Fold one of the ends by 3.5". Make sure you are sewing with the “nice” side inside, as you will be flipping the pouch inside out once sewn. Step 4: Fold the other half of the towel, the entire pouch should measure to 4.5". Pin both folds. Step 5: Sew along the edges. Step 6: Flip it inside out, and put the soap inside! And voila, your very own soap pouch! These can also be used as sachets for potpourri for closets or drawers and are machine wash friendly. Did you like this story? You’ll probably like these as well!
