Step 1: Cut your toilet paper rolls into 1” wide sections. Step 2: Tear pieces of tissue paper and roll them into twisted cords. Make the twists in a variety of widths. Step 3: Tape the tissue twists onto the toilet paper rolls. Step 4: Cut off any excess tissue. Step 5: Continue taping the twists around the outside of the toilet paper roll, using different widths and taping them down at different angles. The goal is to make it look natural like a branch. Step 6: Cut pieces of plaster bandage about 2 ½” x 1”. Step 7: One at a time, dip the plaster bandage pieces into a bowl of water. Gently squeeze out any excess water and smooth the plaster bandage onto the toilet paper roll. Fold the ends in so that they overlap on the inside of the napkin ring. Step 8: Cover the entire toilet paper roll with plaster bandage. Keep the texture as smooth as possible by wetting your finger and smoothing the plaster bandage so that the cloth grain isn’t visible. Step 9: After the plaster bandage is dry, paint with white paint to seal the napkin ring. You can also apply a separate finish if you want a glossier look.
