For crafty DIY lovers, a place filled with spool upon spool of colorful ribbon is more enticing than any candy store. We're lucky that Mokuba, a unique design store selling thousands of varieties of ribbon, tassels and fringe in every color of the rainbow, is just a short walk from our Toronto office.Who buys all this ribbon, you might ask? It's a creative medium used by everyone from costumers, to doll-makers, to hat-makers, to jewelers, to interior designers — and of course by brides creating their one-of-a-kind wedding invitations. Prices range from 50 cents to $150/meter — some of their most expensive ribbon is woven with gold and silver thread — but there's a remnants section and a sale section for those looking to get crafty on a budget.
