I'd say my laptop is pretty vital to my survival at this moment — it's got a light, it occupies my time, and when I sit in front of it for long enough (and work) I get money! – Julia

What was the best handwritten note you’ve received?

Julia, Emily, Claire & Phyllis

The whole may be greater than the sum of its parts, but those parts are what makes the whole worth having. The four women who decided to open a boutique design company together three years ago know this to be true.

Even though they all live in different cities, these two designers (Claire Teschel Konishi + Phyllis Sa) and two illustrators (Julia Kuo+ Emily Dove Gross) come together creatively to produce innovative paper and printed goods using sustainable practices and top-of-the-line materials. But it’s their shared sense of humor, cross-country comradery and obvious joie de vivre that sets this super-powered pack of designing women apart. Educated, organized and charming taboot, The Nimbus Factory is the whole package.
